GIVING AND COMMUNITY

Emlyn founded Solid Soaps for many reasons. One of them is to show up for her community and set an example for her children.

Emlyn is an active member of the membership committee for the Greater Austin Asian Chamber of Commerce (GAACC). She was the Women's Club Event Captain for 2023 and continues to serve in that committee. Want to meet amazing women of different business backgrounds? Women's Club is your jam! Emlyn is a member of the Filipino Young Professionals and group in Austin, the Austin Filipino-American Association (2024-2025), and Austin Business Woman.

Solid Soaps makes monthly donations to Eco-Soap Bank, a humanitarian and environmental non-profit organization working to save, sanitize, and supply leftover soap from manufacturers for the developing world.

Emlyn has helped curate markets with her artisan friend, Chris @kaijucutandsew, including the OMG Squee Lunar New Year Festival in Feb 2022, 2023, and 2024 the OMG Squee Mooncake Fest in August 2022 and September 2023, Stouthaus Stoutoberfest September 2023, and Stouthaus Holiday Markets in Dec 2021, 2022, and 2023.

Solid Soaps has donated to Brentwood Social House, Black Home Birth Matters ATX, Austin Justice Coalition, Black Mamas ATX, The Other Ones Foundation, Austin Asian American Film Festival, Unbound Now Austin, Stop AAPI Hate, Asian Texans For Justice, Festival of All Nations School, and Brentwood Elementary School (to name a few!).
